Salvatore J. Pernice, CFSP, was born in Passaic, N.J. He graduated from Passaic High School in 1973, attended William Paterson College and then attended American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service in New York, N.Y., with a scholarship he received from the Passaic County Funeral Directors Association. He graduated in 1976 and was licensed by the State of N.J. in 1977.

Salvatore began serving his apprenticeship in 1973 with the Powell Funeral Home in Passaic. He went on to become a trade embalmer for many funeral homes in the Bergen, Passaic and Essex county area. He became a partner at Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home in January 1994, up until his partner's death in 1999 when he became the sole owner. He is a member of the Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River, and quite often attends mass at St.Paul R.C. Church in Ramsey.

Salvatore is a member of the Passaic County Funeral Directors Association, N.J. State Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association; he is also a licensed funeral director in New York and Florida. He is very active in the Bergen Highlands Rotary Club, former coach of the Upper Saddle River/Allendale Jr. Football Association, a bereavement facilitator with the Church of the Presentation, Past President of the Ramsey Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Mahwah Chamber of Commerce, Ramsey UNICO, and a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary in Marco Island, FL.

He has also held the position of the Bergen County Medical Examiner's Livery Service since 1982, through which on September 11, 2001 as part of a team of 5, he volunteered to respond to the World Trade Center tragedy to help in the recovery of those who were killed, a memory that he says will be with him forever.

Salvatore J. Pernice Jr., born in Bellville, N.J. and raised in Lodi and Upper Saddle River, N.J. I graduated from Northern Highlands Regional High School in Allendale, N.J. in 1994. Then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. I served four proud years in the Marine Corps, and was Honorably Discharged in February 2001. While in the Marine Corps. I took part in operations in Kuwait and Kosovo, where I earned the Kosovo Campaign Medal. I took great pride in serving our country for four years and it was an experience that I will never forget.

I have always had an interest in the Funeral Business while growing up and I have decided to enter the profession and work with my father and brother. I graduated from American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service In New York, N.Y. in December 2004, and earned my Funeral Director's License in July 2004.

I have recently become a member of the National Funeral Directors Association and am very eager to work in the funeral profession. I look forward to starting my profession in the Funeral Business and to serve all families with the utmost care and compassion.

Nicholas Pernice was born in Belleville, New Jersey in 1977. Graduated from Northern Highlands Regional High School in Allendale, NJ in 1996. Nicholas was introduced to the funeral business at a very early age by his father. From that point on the feeling from within of becoming a funeral director grew stronger and stronger. Driven by passion, will and determination he decided to enroll at the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service in New York City. Upon graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2006 with an Associates degree in Mortuary Science, he became licensed in the state of New Jersey in 2007 and joined the family business with his dad and brother. 

He is a member of the NJ State and National Funeral Directors Associations and a member of the Ramsey UNICO. He takes great pride in serving families with the utmost care and compassion possible at their time of need.
