Green Burial

Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home is now offering more Earth-friendly ways to care for your loved ones. If you decide on a green burial we can assist you with all necessary decisions.

A green funeral, or natural burial, ensures that you will be reunited with the earth, and return to its elements as naturally as possible. All organisms that have lived, have died and returned to the soil...only to be recycled into new life. Nature creates no waste. Everything is recycled.

Interment can take place in a blanket, quilt, shroud or a biodegradable casket. No embalming, no manufactured caskets and no concrete vaults.

Some families may chose to have a service at their home, a funeral service at the funeral home, an accommodating local church or a graveside service. In keeping with your personal values, a natural burial site promotes growth of native trees, shrubs and wild flowers, in turn bringing birds and other wildlife to the area. Pesticides and herbicides are not used to control nature. Instead a green cemetery allows nature to take its course.

Not included *Cost of casket if selected, flowers and certain cash disbursements such as death certificates, clergy if desired, obituary if desired, cemetery/scattering charges along with any other item not specifically listed.

Payment in full is due at the time of arrangement. Cash, check or credit card payment is acceptable.
