Albert H. Klomburg

Albert H. Klomburg, 88, of Allendale, NJ, passed away on May 7, 2022.  Albert was raised in Oradell and later moved to Allendale where he raised his family and was Mayor for 16 years.  He was the son of the late Albert and Florence Klomburg.  He was a graduate of Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance/Accounting and a member of Theta Chi fraternity.  Albert was employed with Roper Starch Worldwide as Treasurer before his retirement.  He was a longtime parishioner of Guardian Angel RC church in Allendale.  Albert loved and cherished his family.  He enjoyed making memories during family vacations, family gatherings, and supporting his grandchildren at school and sporting events.  Albert was a devoted Mets and Giants fan.  He liked to watch their games and quote their stats to family and friends.  In his younger years, he competed at dog shows, and he continued to enjoy the company of dogs throughout his life.  

He is survived by his wife Josephine and his children Joanne Ricke of Allendale, Jayne Keefe of Allendale, and Alison Missel of Wyckoff.  Affectionately known as Pop-Pop to 6 grandchildren Shelby, Krista, Steven, Kevin, Shaun, and Megan.  Loving uncle of several nieces and nephews.  He will be missed greatly by his family.  

He proudly served his community in municipal service as the Mayor of Allendale for 16 years, as well as Council President, Councilman, Allendale Planning Board, New Jersey League of Municipalities, Vice Chairman Legislative Sub-committee, New Jersey Conference of Mayors Board of Director Member, and Northwest Bergen Mayors’ Association President.  He also enjoyed serving his community as Allendale Athletic Association Vice President and girls soccer, softball, and basketball coach.  He also was the coach of the first girls Allendale American soccer team.  He served as the Allendale Republican Club Vice President, Allendale Centennial Committee Chairman, Holiday Observer member and past President, and Northern Highlands Band Parents Association President.  Albert was a member of the Allendale American Legion Post 204 and a veteran of the Korean War.
