Alf B. Haglund

Alf B. Haglund, 89 of Jersey City, formerly Tuxedo Park, NY. Beloved husband leaving behind his wife Jean. Loving father of four kids, daughter Janet Wenberg (Terry), son Daniel Haglund (Dawn), daughter Kristine Young (Charles) and son John Haglund. He also fathered and loved Michael Fucito, who cared and loved Alf so tenderly. Alf was an adored grandfather of six, and great grandfather of ten. Alf, formally known as Sonny, was also a brother. Alf was a hard working man, working for Sichol & Hicks of Suffern for nearly 60 years of his life. He didn’t retire until he was 80, and it was only due to breaking his femur bone, but Sichol & Hicks, part of the family after all the years, was sad to see him go. He was known for his piercing Swedish blue eyes. He loved to garden in his spare time, sending his children home with fresh picked cucumbers, and his sweet cherry tomatoes. He built his family home with his own bare hands, and it still stands strong in Tuxedo today. Like the house, his legacy will stand strong forever even after death. He will be missed. 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and Thursday from 11 AM – 1 PM at Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave, Ramsey, NJ.
