Alice (van Liere) Hakkenberg

Alice Hakkenberg (van Liere) 98, from Ramsey NJ originally the Netherlands passed away peacefully on February 26, 2023. She was born on Thursday January 29,1925 in Rotterdam, Netherlands to Peter and Jacoba van Liere. She is proceeded by her husband Paul Hakkenberg, son Paul Hakkenberg, Jr. Sisters Johanna and Annie and brothers Krijn and Adrianus. Alice lived her final years with her granddaughter Ashlee, grandson-in-law Eric and great-granddaughter Autum. She is survived by her sister Corrie of New Windsor, NY and Beppie of the Netherlands, loving son Peter Hakkenberg and daughter-in-law Agnieszka, grandsons David and John and Megan her granddaughter-in-law, nephew Robert and partner Jim.  Along with many other family members in the Netherlands and America.

Alice married her wonderful husband, Paul, on September 29,1949 and moved from the Netherlands to America on May 5,1950 to start a beautiful life. They were blessed with two handsome sons who both married and blessed them with 6 total grandchildren who then blessed her with 6 great-grandchildren. Two of Alice's sisters followed her to America and helped create our wonderfully large family. Alice loved singing in choir. She was an amazingly talented seamstress. She loved the beauty of mother nature and spending time on it watching the wildlife especially the birds and sunsets on her favorite beach.

In lieu of flowers, please think about planting a tree or some flowers for the bees, Alice loved nature and walking in it.  Alice also loved music and loved to sing, think about donating to a local organization for music in her honor.

The family is also collecting Donations Via Ashlee Hakkenberg for a Magnolia tree and plague at the family's house along with donating music to valley so patients can listen to music if they have no other means, music is medicine. You can contact Ashlee at ashhakk@gmail.com.
