Ann "Cookie" Alsdorf

Ann “Cookie” Alsdorf (née Hellmuth), age 90, of Allendale, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home on October 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Beloved wife of 69 years to John L. Alsdorf, Cookie was the devoted mother of Theresa Alsdorf Hardy (husband Finess), Brenda Alsdorf Paulicelli (husband Sam), Linda Alsdorf Brancato (Jeff Kimble), Patti Alsdorf Gurney (husband Bryan), and John P. Alsdorf (wife Susan). She was the proud grandmother of 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Cookie was predeceased by her parents, Paul and Mary Hellmuth, and her brothers, Paul and Bob Hellmuth.

An incredibly talented and creative woman, Cookie founded Cookie’s Ceramics in Allendale, where she shared her love of art by teaching classes and creating a warm, welcoming space for local women to gather, learn, and connect. Her creativity, kindness, and zest for life left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her. She could often be found tending to her flower gardens, where she found peace, joy and a deep connection to the beauty on earth. Her grandchildren remember being indulged in a myriad of arts & crafts and homemade treats when in her care.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Cookie’s life at Van Emburgh–Sneider–Pernice Funeral Home, Ramsey, NJ, on Tuesday, October 14, from 3:00–7:00 PM.and Wednesday, October 15, at 10:30 AM, followed by interment at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Allendale Ambulance Corps by sending a check made out to "Allendale Ambulance Corps" to 26 Arcadia Rd, Allendale, NJ 07401 with "In memory of Cookie Alsdorf" in the memo."
