Anna Bader (nee Seidl), 84, of Mahwah, died peacefully on December 10, 2020 with her devoted daughter Christina by her side. She was born February 18, 1936 to Franz and Gertrude Seidl in Yugoslavia. She lived in Germany and Salzburg, Austria before immigrating to the USA in 1956 with her husband and baby daughter Hannelore. She is loved and will be missed by her husband of 65 years, Siegfried Bader, their children, Christina Bader, Irene Calotta and husband Charles and Michael Bader and wife Rona. As well as grandchildren, Cerrie Anna Bader, Mary Anna Connor and husband Ian, Joseph Calotta, Kat Bader and Drew Bader, great-grandsons, Shawn and Brian. As well as her long-time friend Nancy Baker Newman, her brother Adolf and wife Erika of Austria, her sisters-in-law Josephine Seidl and late husband Hans of Canada and Margarete Vogel and husband Tony of Australia and cousin Josef Seidl and late wife Mary of Callicoon, NY and many adored nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She is predeceased by her brothers, Franz and wife Katie of Canada, Richard, sisters Katherina and husband Stefan Schroft of Germany, Magdalena and husband Friedl Unterasinger of Austria, Gertrude, daughter, Hannelore Bader, nephew Hans Seidl, godson Jon Baker, and his dad Henry Baker. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family, friends (aka everyone she met), church, and her love for the environment. She was a recycler before recycling became popular.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 14, 2020 from 9 - 10 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary R.C. Church in Mahwah with a funeral mass being celebrated at 10 AM at the church. Interment will follow at Mahwah Cemetery.
