Anna Paz y mino Obituary

Anna Celia Paz y mino, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025, at 11:41 a.m. in Oakland, New Jersey, at the age of 85. She was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador, to Anna Coello and Mario Paz y mino, and migrated with her mother and brother to the United States in 1945. She was born with a spirit of resilience, generosity, and kindness that defined every chapter of her remarkable life.

Anna pursued higher education at Queens College, CUNY, earning an Associate’s degree in Business Management, followed by professional studies at the World Trade Institute to become a skilled import/exporter. She also nurtured her love of nature and gardening by obtaining a Certified Master Gardener credential from Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service.

Anna exemplified tireless dedication, spending over two decades holding down two full-time jobs to provide for her family. In her accomplished career, Anna contributed her expertise as an International Sales Specialist at Bulbtronics International, managing global sales and client relations, particularly within the Latin American market. Her active salesmanship, customer service, and adeptness at negotiating and coordinating logistics made her an admired figure in the import/export field. She held roles such as Sales Coordinator for Ocean World Lines and Assistant Traffic Manager at Avon International, where she excelled at documentation, logistics, and problem resolution. Anna also served as Customer Service Supervisor at Meenan Oil Company, overseeing staff and ensuring prompt, efficient service for clientele. Fluent in Spanish and skilled in administrative and export procedures, Anna earned the respect of colleagues and clients alike for her confidence, assertiveness, and ability to tackle formidable challenges with grace and poise.

Anna is survived by her loving children, daughter Victoria Wenzel, son William Wenzel, and daughter Janet Shelley-Perusini and husband Kevin; by her younger brother Mario Paz y mino, sister Patricia Rohan, and brother-in-law Tom Rohan; and by her cherished cousins Gloria, Dora, Cynthia, and Mario Coello; Jaime, Anna, Winston, David, and Terry Grey-Belivaqua; nieces and nephews Laura and Dino Cochicas, Michael, Nina and Jonathan Paz y mino, Sandi Vega, and Danny Vega. She is also remembered fondly by her grandchildren, Isabella and Nicoletta LeCrichia. And her dear home health aide Jocelyn Manaois.

A hardworking, dependable, organized and modest woman. Anna’s kindness, gentle disposition, and loving nature touched all who knew her. She was a steady, enduring presence for her family, always ready to support and uplift those in need. Her pride in her work, diligence, and strength of character will be remembered by her family and friends always.
