Anna L. (Lockwood) Pope

Anna L. Pope (née Lockwood), 102, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025, in Ramsey, New Jersey.

A lifelong resident of Bergen County, she was the beloved wife of the late John I. Pope and a devoted mother of five, as well as a cherished grandmother of seven and great-grandmother of five, who knew her as Grandma and Meema. 

Ann enjoyed skiing, gardening, and square dancing. She was an avid reader, who enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, and listening to classical music. In her later years, she especially enjoyed traveling with her husband, collecting memories (and coffee mugs) from around the world. Ann is survived by her children, Sally Ruef and her husband Rich, John S. Pope and his wife Mikki, James I. Pope and his wife Pearl, Suzanne Funderburke and her partner Kevin Kennedy, and Jeffrey V. Pope. She was predeceased by Suzanne's husband Michael Funderburke. Ann will be remembered affectionately for her steady presence, curiosity, and deep love for her family.

Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026 from 1 PM - 4 PM with a remembrance being conducted at 3 PM at Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Avenue, Ramsey.
