Anna Rose “Rosie” Amista, age 85, passed away peacefully in her home on July 12th, 2025. A devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and faithful servant of God, bringing wisdom, warmth, and endless laughter to everyone blessed to know her.
Born on May 1st, 1940, in New York, Rosie spent most of her life in Brooklyn, where she raised her beloved daughter Lucy and created a lifetime of beautiful memories with her family — especially her sisters Catherine, Carmela, Phyllis, Domenica & her brother Jimmy...with whom she shared a deep and enduring closeness.
Rosie was the heart of her family. She was a loving wife to her husband Tony, a proud and devoted mother to her daughter Lucy, and a deeply cherished “Grandma” to her four grandchildren — Marco, Gianna, Vincent, and Joseph — who brought her immeasurable joy.
Her life was guided by her faith as she loved the Lord with all her heart. God was the foundation of her strength, compassion, and resilience. She was always quick to offer a prayer, a kind word, or a shoulder to lean on.
Whether she was playing bingo, cards, traveling, or trying her luck at the slot machines, Rosie embraced life with joy and a sparkle in her eye. She lit up every room with her laughter, her quick wit, and her unmistakable spirit.
Rosie’s presence in our lives was a gift from God, and her love will remain with us always. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing she is home with the Lord.
We love you, Grams — and we’ll carry your faith, your laughter, and your light with us forever.
