Anton Skrebets Obituary

Anton Skrebets, 40, of Mahwah, New Jersey, passed away on November 19, 2025, surrounded by the unwavering love of his wife and soulmate, Hannah. His loss leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of those who adored him most, especially his three young children: Imogen (6), and twins Henry and Evelyn (3), who were the center of his universe.

Anton was born on September 24, 1985, and built a life defined by devotion, integrity, courage, and an extraordinary love for his family. From the moment he and Hannah learned they were expecting their first child, Anton stepped wholeheartedly into fatherhood—joyful, proud, and eager for every chapter to come. Becoming a dad was his greatest honor, and he approached it with the same enthusiasm, steadiness, and tenderness that shaped every aspect of who he was.

In November 2022, Anton was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer. Despite the challenges and the grueling treatments, he faced every day with bravery, humor, and an unshakeable will to be present for the family he cherished. Cancer never defined him. He continued to work, travel, make memories, and show up—school events, doctor appointments, bedtime routines, and family adventures. His determination was unmatched, and his love was limitless.

Anton and Hannah shared a beautiful life filled with exploration and adventure. Together they visited Italy, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria, Germany, Bermuda, France, and Ireland. They also loved taking countless road trips up and down the East Coast, a tradition they joyfully continued after becoming parents. In 2021, while expecting their twins, they visited Paris with Imogen during the pandemic. After the twins were born, they continued traveling as a family of five—including memorable trips to the Dominican Republic—and returned often to places they loved like Cape Cod, Vermont, and Pennsylvania. They explored much of the U.S. together, creating a lifetime of memories through dozens upon dozens of local trips, spontaneous getaways, and shared adventures with their children.

Home was everything to him. After moving into their family’s forever home in 2019, Anton took tremendous pride in turning the house into a warm, welcoming place filled with love, laughter, and comfort. He worked tirelessly alongside his father-in-law, Joe, fixing, renovating, and improving anything that would make life better for Hannah and the kids. He poured his heart into every project, creating a home that reflected his devotion to his family and the life they were building together. He especially loved the joyful chaos of a full house — three young kids, three cats, and a dog — a home filled with the warmth and noise that made his heart happiest.

Anton built a meaningful career as a Senior Procurement Manager supporting a large bank and was deeply respected by colleagues for his intelligence, work ethic, and kindness. But above all achievements, his greatest legacy remains the family he poured every ounce of himself into.

He is survived by his loving wife Hannah; his children Imogen, Henry, and Evelyn; his parents, Olga Podymova and Valeri Skrebets; his father- and mother-in-law Joe and Cheryl Samaroo;  his grandmother Nina Komok; his brother Eugene Podymov;  sister- and brother-in-law Sarah and Danny Scull and nephew Julian Scull; his sister- and brother-in-law Rachel and Brian Scheibe; his brother- and sister-in-law Joel and Katherine Samaroo; his brother- and sister-in-law Gabriel and Bailey Samaroo; Aunt Sharon Lowe and all who were fortunate enough to walk through life with him.

Anton will be remembered for his gentle soul, his fierce loyalty, his brilliant mind, his unmatched bravery, and the way he loved—with depth, humor, tenderness, and absolute devotion. His absence is immeasurable, but so is the love he leaves behind.
