Arsenia Roque Reyes

Arsenia R. Reyes, fondly called by many as Zeny, was born on December 15, 1940 in the Philippines and has gone home to heaven with her creator on January 22,2022. Her earthly life was endowed with many blessings. She completed a degree in B.S. Optometry and practiced her chosen profession for a short period of time to become a full-time mother. Gifted with a lovely face and pleasant personality, she reaped beauty titles in her younger years in her hometown in the Philippines but her most-prized title was being a loving wife, mother and grandmother. 

She was endeared to her family and friends because of her selfless love, thoughtfulness, kindness, solicitude, warmth and caring attitude to name a few. Next to nurturing her family, her greatest passion is growing plants and flowers. Her face would light up at the sight of beautiful flowers. Anyone who has tasted her dish would say that no one can dethrone her from being the “best cook”. She was a woman of faith, praying incessantly throughout the day holding her St. Jude prayer card and asking for the Lord’s blessings on everyone she loves. 

Zeny leaves behind her husband of 58 years, Engr. Leonardo D. Reyes, daughter Cherrie, daughter Lannie Cabling and son-in-law Jun, daughter Ressie Lirag and son-in-law Manolito, son Ronnie and daughter-in-law Mylene, daughter Crissa Readel and son-in-law Ryan. She was a devoted LOLA (grandmother) to her grandchildren whom she deeply loved namely, Julian Paolo R. Cabling, Jeremie Francis R. Cabling, Emanuel R. Lirag, Aaron Angelo R. Lirag, Alexa Frances F. Reyes, Anne-Gabriella F. Reyes and Charlee Rylynn R. Readel.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022  from 4 to 7 pm at Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave, Ramsey. Burial following 10:30 a.m. mass at Immaculate Conception in Darlington Avenue Mahwah, NJ on Friday, January 28,2022. She will be laid to rest at Maryrest Cemetery 770 Darlington Avenue Mahwah, NJ.
