Barbara Ann (Colahan) Lauzon

Lauzon, Barbara A. (nee Colahan) 91, on April 18, 2024 of Teaneck, New Jersey, passed away peacefully after a short illness.  She was born on May 13, 1932, in Detroit, Michigan to Joseph Colahan and Ethel Colahan (Snyder).

Her family then moved to Astoria, Queens, NY where she spent her childhood. She moved to Teaneck, NJ in her junior year of high school.  Barbara is a graduate of Teaneck High School.  She raised her family in Park Ridge, NJ and in her later years, resided back in Teaneck, NJ.

She always had a smile on her face and never had an unkind word to say about anyone.  She loved to curl up with a good book or sit outside and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature.  Her favorite game show was Jeopardy and very few of us could compete with her vast knowledge.  Barbara cherished spending time with her loved ones.

She raised four children and then went to work for A&P Grocery Corporate Offices in Montvale, NJ where she excelled in the Accounts Payable Department for over 20 years until her retirement.  Barbara was a die-hard Knicks, Mets, and Yankees fan as well as loved watching golf on TV.   Many evenings, in her early days, she spent time playing cards such as Kings Corner or Solitaire.  She learned to play bridge and displayed quite a knack for the card game.  After retirement Barbara sang in an all-woman’s chorus and performed for the senior center in her community.

She is survived by her sister, Jane Dolan, her four children, Kenneth Lauzon Jr. and his wife Kim, Timothy Lauzon, and his wife Jane, Claire Lauzon-Vallone and her husband Paul Vallone, and Michelle Lauzon.  Her most precious treasurers were her five grandchildren, May (Lauzon) Wingard and her husband Adam, William Lauzon and his wife, Nina, Emma (Lauzon) Bacon and her husband Alex, Mark Vallone and his wife Veronica, and Brian Vallone and his wife, Kasey.  Her blessings were her four great-grandchildren, Evelyn Vallone, Addy Vallone, Drake Vallone and Lydia Vallone. Barbara touched many lives and will be missed by all those who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, from 4 - 6 PM at Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Avenue, Ramsey, NJ. Interment will be held privately by the family at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation of a memorial gift in honor of Barbara, to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

A small reception will be held at Brady’s at the Station, Ramsey, NJ, following the service.
