Bernice (Zaleski) Baxter

Bernice A. Baxter, born in Hohokus, NJ, September 11,1931, raised and lived her whole life in Mahwah NJ.  She is predeceased by her sister, Lottie and Mary, step brothers, Bill, Stanley and Tony.  Her husband of over 62 years John (Jack) and is survived by her son John and wife Dawn, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Bernice lived a wonderful life, and was a loving and caring mother, sister and friend to many.  During her years in the work force, she was employed by Avon, A & P Supermarkets, Faberge and Jacnome.  She enjoyed the senior center activities, bingo and crocheting.

Bernice passed away near her son and daughter-in-law in Myrtle Beach, as in her final months, she suffered from Alzheimer's and it was a blessing that they were able to spend quality time together.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 PM - 7 PM at Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Avenue, Ramsey. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at 10 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mahwah Cemetery in Mahwah.
