Carmela Strangio Obituary

Carmela M. Strangio on Saturday, November 9, 2024, loving wife, and mother of two children, passed away peacefully at Brandywine Living at the age of 93. Cam was born January 9, 1931, in Jersey City, New Jersey to Mary and Paul Bucci. She attended and graduated from the Holy Rosary Academy and went on to work in the accounting department of the Atlantic and Pacific Company. She married her high school sweetheart Joseph Strangio in July of 1952 and together they raised two children, Ellen, and Andrew “Drew” Strangio. Cam was committed to her family, her faith, and her volunteer work.  She gave time to the Saddle River Senior Fellowship, Northwest Bergen Regional Center, and the Presentation Seniors.  Her commitment to her community was one of you “volunteer in your community and you will get to know where you live and the people who live there.” Cam was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, her mother, Mary, her father Paul, her sister Rose, her brother Danny, and her brother Joe. She is survived by her two children, Ellen Wright, and husband Stavely, their son Jess Wright and his wife Magali, her son Drew and his wife Maureen, her granddaughter Rebecca and grandson Andrew Strangio and his wife Alexandra, dear friend Michael Thompson and his husband Mauricio, and numerous friends.

A  service will be conducted on November 15, 2024 at 10:30am at Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Avenue, Ramsey.  A private burial at Old Stone Church Cemetery.
