Carolyn Joy Schrodt, 82, of Pompton Plains, NJ passed away on October 18th, 2020. Born on June 20, 1938 in Mount Vernon, NY, Carolyn was the daughter of Mildred and Frederick Cornely. She attended Mount Vernon High School, and went on to Katharine Gibbs College which she graduated from in 1957. Carolyn was married to Fred Schrodt of Slingerlands, NY and they had four children together whom they raised in Nassau, Bahamas as well as in Allendale, NJ. Carolyn is survived by son Freddie Schrodt, daughters Bonnie Bruno, and Robin O'Connell; daughter in law Debbie Schrodt, son in law Patrick O'Connell; grandchildren Mila Bruno, Ryan O'Connell, Quintin O'Connell, Courtney O'Connell, and Katherine O'Connell. She was preceded in death by Fred Schrodt and daughter Susan Spinnenwebber. In addition to living in Allendale, NJ, she was a long time resident of Ramsey, NJ where she was an active member of St. John's Church and enjoyed hobbies such as needlepoint and bridge playing. Carolyn was lovingly known as Nana to her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her affection for family, her faith, a sharp sense of humor, being a lover of all types of seafood, and for decorating walls with her favorite animal - the wise owl. There will be a graveside service with family on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at 11 AM at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, NY. (Please meet at cemetery office)
