Charles W. Bretthauer

Charles W. Bretthauer of Ramsey, New Jersey passed away on April 2, 2021. Charlie was born May 30th, 1938, in The Bronx, New York to the late Charles and Alice Bretthauer.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Margaret Bretthauer; his sons Charles Bretthauer  (Partner Sheila M. Jenks -  deceased), of Ramsey, New Jersey; Steven (wife Mary) of Milford, Connecticut; and grandchildren Kevin, Thomas, and Jack.

Charlie proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves.  He worked for IBM for 35 years in various I/S management positions until his retirement in 1992.  He continued to work as a consultant in various IBM locations until his final retirement in 2000.

Charlie was extremely proud of his Diamond Club Status at Atlantic City. He loved to play softball and played on multiple teams for IBM and the Ramsey Recreation leagues. Most of all he was a loyal and avid Mets fan and greatly enjoyed sharing his love of baseball with his sons and grandsons.

Services will be held at St.Paul's Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, April 10th at 10:00 am.
