Dr. Charles Carozza passed away at 80 years old on September 5, 2023. He was a celebrated physician of orthopedic surgery at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ. He grew up in Brooklyn, NY where he met his late wife Rose Carozza with whom he shared 53 years of marriage. He went on to attend Georgetown University where he played football and then Albany Medical College to receive his MD. He completed his internship at the Hospital for Joint Diseases and his residency at Montefiore Medical Center. He was the proud co-inventor of a medical device used in total hip replacements. Charles was a Major in the United States Army Reserve among his many accomplishments.
Along with his late wife, Charles shared his life with his three children Diane, Debra, and Charles, along with his daughter-in-law Christina Carozza and son-in-laws Eric Nedelkoff, Bill Lynch, and Scott Deas. Charles also found joy in spending time with his 6 grandchildren Amanda and Sofia Nedelkoff, Anthony and Andrew Lynch, and Charles and Christian Carozza. He is the loving brother to Corinne Peretin and the late Marilyn Schiavo who made him an uncle to his beloved nieces and nephews.
Aside from his impressive and cherished career, Charles enjoyed creating treasures in his wood shop, skiing with family, and spending his summers on Long Beach Island. He resided in Woodcliff Lake, NJ with his wife in the later years of his life where he could be close to family and friends that he considered family. Please send donations to the following link:
