Charlotte Marie Wiesner Pendleton, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in Ramsey, New Jersey on August 29, 2024, at the age of 89.
Born in St. Paul, Minnesota on February 7, 1935, to Remy and Pearl (Anderson) Wiesner, Charlotte graduated from Harding High School and attended Colorado State University and Texas A&M, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in English. It was at Colorado State that she met her husband of 66 years, Stevens Palmer Pendleton. They spent time living in Virginia, Florida, Texas, and California before eventually settling in Ramsey in 1975.
Charlotte was involved in various volunteer endeavors including the Center for Food Action in Hackensack, NJ and the “Who’s Who in Ramsey”. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ramsey since 1975, and her membership in the American Association of University Women spoke to her high level of intellect and commitment to education. Along with her husband Steve, she enjoyed sailing excursions along the East Coast and taking many trips abroad to Europe. She also enjoyed playing competitive bridge, was known to be an avid birdwatcher, a whiz at fractions, and an expert in translating English phrases into Pig Latin. Her voracious appetite for reading and exploring the world led to a near perfect record in Trivial Pursuit, where her winning percentage among friends and family was virtually unmatched.
Charlotte was pre-deceased by her parents and brother, Robert Wiesner. She is survived by her husband Steve, her daughters Anna Galleher (Gary), Katrine Thompson (Woodman), Lora Pendleton (Patrick Burke), son Doan Pendleton (Randi), eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Charlotte’s family will receive relatives and friends at the First Presbyterian Church of Ramsey, NJ at 15 Shuart Lane in Ramsey on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Charlotte’s honor to the Center for Food Action/New Jersey (https://www.cfanj.org) at 192 West Demarest Avenue, Englewood, NJ 07631.
