Charlotte (Baldino) Sweeney

Charlotte Sweeney (nee Baldino) 83, of Mahwah, formerly of Upper Saddle River and Lodi passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family March 28, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer and Alzheimer's disease. Devoted wife of 47 years to the late James J. Sweeney (2011). Beloved mother to James Sweeney and his wife Maryanne of Ramsey and the late Shawn Sweeney of Ocoee, FL. Cherished and loving grandmother of Amanda (Christopher) Serafin, Caitlin (Matthew) Francis, and Rachael Sweeney. Great-grandmother to Theodore Serafin. Sister of Peter Baldino, Rita Crisafi and the late Anita Baldino. Loved by many nieces and nephews and Godmother to many. After graduating high school in 1959, Charlotte worked for Bendix Corporation, Lawrence Erlbaum Publishers, and most recently Bogert and Reynolds Schools in the Upper Saddle River School district as a office assistant and lunch aide before retiring in 2017. She loved traveling with her Alpha Omega girlfriends all over the world. She was the best mother and grammy a family could ask for, always available to help, encourage and support her family. She was generous and kind. She was the organizer of family gatherings, and the glue that kept everyone together. 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 PM - 8 PM at Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave, Ramsey. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at 10 AM at Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River. Interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah.
