Denise O'Dea

It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that we announce the untimely passing of a remarkable woman, a cherished friend and an extraordinary mother. Denise O’Dea, age 45 of Ramsey, NJ, was high school sweethearts with her husband Bryan and an amazing mother to her three daughters Keira (15), Aerin (13)  and Rory (9).  

Denise was born on December 3, 1977 and was raised by her loving parents Ina and John Stankiewicz (both predeceased).  John was a proud graduate of Cardinal Hayes in the Bronx and Denise would later follow in her father’s footsteps by pursuing a Catholic education, graduating from Immaculate Heart Academy in 1996. At IHA, she met many lifelong best friends and eventually met her future husband Bryan.  She later graduated from Ramapo College and pursued a successful career in Event Planning Management, with Pearson and most recently the American Student Assistance organization.

The highlight of her life was being an active mom to three wonderful girls. Denise eagerly attended an endless amount of dance recitals, school activities, basketball and lacrosse games where she was a voracious cheerleader for all of her girls. Denise loved spending time at the beach with friends and her extended family of in-laws, nieces and nephews.  She was an integral part of the Ramsey Country Club community and was adored by her loving Godchildren and countless neighborhood friends.

Although her time with us was tragically cut short, Denise  will forever remain in our hearts as a guiding light. Her memory will continue to inspire us, reminding us to cherish the moments we share with loved ones and to live with compassion and kindness.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 2 - 6 PM at St. Paul R.C. Church, 200 Wyckoff Avenue, Ramsey. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 10 AM at St. Paul R.C. Church in Ramsey. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery in Airmont, NY.
