Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Friend

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dolores Raiz, age 83.

Dolores was the devoted wife of the late John Raiz and the cherished mother of Kara Morrison and her husband Michael, and Paul Raiz and his wife Jessica. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Brooke, Leigh, Jack, and Gavin, each of whom brought her endless joy and pride.

Dolores is also survived by her dear sisters Angelina (husband Isaac), and Rosalie (late husband Robert) her sister-in-law Fran (late husband Greg) and predeceased by her brother Steve (and late wife Gerri). She will be fondly remembered as a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews whose lives she touched with her warmth, wisdom, and generosity.

A longtime resident of Mahwah, Dolores served her community faithfully as the Director of Human Services for many years. Her dedication and compassion left a lasting impact on countless lives.

Dolores had a true gift for cooking and was happiest when surrounded by family and friends around her kitchen table. Her culinary talents were legendary, and she found great joy in preparing meals that brought people together.

She was also an avid gardener with a deep love of nature. Each spring, she delighted in planting flowers that brightened her home and reflected the beauty she saw in the world around her.

Dolores’s kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family will never be forgotten. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, generosity, and a life well lived.

The family welcome all to celebrate Dolores' life at a memorial service on Tuesday July 15th from 11:00am - 12:30pm with a service being conducted at 12pm at Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Avenue, Ramsey. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.
