Donald Thomas Munro, of Mahwah, NJ passed away on Monday, March 15, 2021. He was born to Thomas and Eunice Munro on December 5th, 1939, and raised in Teaneck, NJ where he graduated High School. He spent his summers on Lake Mohawk. Don earned a degree in Mathematics from Fairleigh Dickinson University, where he played on their Soccer team, and was inducted in the FDU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2012. Don served two years in the Navy, deployed in the Cuban Missile Crisis, inspiring two of his children to also serve in the Navy. Don retired after a career of government service with the Treasury Department and Social Security Administration. Additionally, he was a small business owner, Ramsey High School soccer coach, and activity bus driver for over twenty years. Don was an avid Ranger Hockey fan, poker player, golfer, and fisherman. His greatest love was being a father and grandfather, spending time with his family of four children and their spouses: Karen and Mike Mahaney, Tom and Cynthia Munro, Jamie Munro and Adrianna Smart, Greg and Michelle Munro; and his thirteen grandchildren, and loving partner, Rita DiPasquale. Don’s motto was “Live and Let Live” and “Go Rangers!” His family will always remember his heartfelt wisdom, especially over a martini, Gin, with a twist of lemon. Arrangements are being handled by Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, Ramsey, NJ. Viewing at funeral home Friday, March 19th, 2-6 PM with Prayer Service at 4 PM, for family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made on Don’s behalf to Garden of Dreams Foundation or a charity of choice.
