Dr. Herbert A. Huss M.D.P.C.

On Friday, December 5th, 2025,  Dr. Herbert Anthony Huss, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend passed away at the age of 90.  Born to Hermann and Belen Booth Huss, Herb graduated from Iona College and went on to earn a medical degree from Georgetown School of Medicine in the field of OB/GYN.  Herb worked as a sole practitioner in a thriving medical practice in Suffern, NY and delivered many babies at Good Samaritan Hospital before he retired after 50 years of service. Herb was also a veteran of the U.S. military, as he served as a Major in the Army during the Vietnam war.

 Herb was married to his wife of over 60 years,  Joan C. Huss who passed away in 2022. A devoted father of 5, Herb was also predeceased by daughter Stephanie and grandson Roger, III (surviving son-in-law Roger Kriegl, Jr). His surviving children include Caryn, Tony, Eric (daughter-in-law Diane)  and Jonathan Huss, (daughter-in-law Elizabeth).  Herb was a loving grandfather to Nicholas, (granddaughter-in-law Madi), Alexandra, Olivia, Nina, Samuel and Jade Huss, and great-grandfather to Carter, Greyson and Lester Thaddeus.

Herb had a love of live music and a dry sense of wit. He enjoyed attending music concerts and recreational events in the park with daughter Caryn, when he resided at her residence in Tarrytown, NY after his wife died.  Friends and neighbors considered him to be a trustworthy and reliable member of the community.

The wake will be held on Tuesday, December 9th from 5-8 PM and at Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home in Ramsey, NJ and the Funeral mass will be held at 10 AM on Weds, December 10th at the Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River, NJ. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the NYS Veterans Home in Montrose, NY where he enjoyed his final year amongst his comrades.
