Edward T. Wysocki, Sr. passed quietly on December 19, 2020. Born in Ramapo, NY on July 10, 1929. He will always be remembered as the person with a smile on his face, a laugh and as someone who dedicated so much of his life to his community and country. Known as “Mr. Mahwah” because of many contributions to the town. He was a 59-year member of Company 2 Fire Dept, including being Mahwah Dept. Fire Chief from 1971 through 1973. Established Company #5 Fire House on Stag Hill. He was a past commander of Mahwah VFW Post #7124, after having served in the Korean Conflict in the US Navy. He was a member of the Mahwah Elks Lodge. He was a Mahwah Little League baseball coach for 30 years. He was a member of Mahwah Fire Prevention and Mahwah Board of Adjustments. He loved his visits to the shore, OTB, and trips to Monticello and Meadowlands Racetracks. Survived by his fiancée Beatrice Robertson and predeceased by his wife, Barbara Farrow Wysocki. He is survived by his son Edward T. Wysocki, Jr. and partner Brian Price; and son James Joseph Wysocki, wife Dawn and granddaughter, Deirdre. Also survived by his siblings, Marian, John and Jean.
Because of the pandemic, we are planning a private burial to keep everyone safe, but we will be doing a memorial service in the near future to celebrate his life.
