Eileen Kelly Cipollone passed away peacefully at home on April 27, 2023. She is survived by her sister Cornelia Kelly, brother James Kelly, sister-in-law Mary Hill, daughters Catherine, Kelly and Mary Rose, son-in-law Chad Cookinham, and beloved grandchildren Anabelle and Seamus.
Eileen was born in the Bronx, New York on November 12, 1941. She married Anthony in 1963 and they moved to Ridgewood, New Jersey where they raised their family. She had a successful career in Human Resources and retired from Hackensack University Medical Center in 2012.
Eileen enjoyed a full life in retirement, socializing regularly with new and old friends, playing bridge, and brunching with her daughters. Her passion for music spanned diverse genres with opera and fifties rock-n-roll among her favorites. Eileen was also an avid reader, a great dancer and a spectacular cook. She enjoyed European travel and spoke fluent Italian. Her favorite city was Rome.
Eileen will be remembered for her kindness and empathy for people of all walks of life. She treated everyone with the same respect, whether they worked in a toll booth or a corporate office. A loving mother, she raised her daughters with the sincere belief that no one is beneath any of us, and that integrity is what you do when no one is watching. She was also just a lot of fun.
The world was a better place for having Eileen in it. She will be greatly missed.
