Eileen Kwak Obituary

Eileen Kwak (nee Morgan), 78, of Mahwah passed onto God’s reward on Tuesday, November 22, 2022.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Stanley Kwak, Sr., her brothers John and William Morgan and her sister-in-law Mary Kwak. She is survived by her son Stanley (wife Maria), her daughter Donna (husband Eddie) and was the cherished Nana of Joshua, Brett and Sean Kwak. She was also the loving sister of Margaret Fink (husband Bill) and Catherine Esposito (husband Joe). She is also survived by many dear family members and friends.

Eileen, Mom, Nana, Aunt, Sister, Friend - she answered to many names. But whatever you called her, she always answered and had time for you. She led a simple life, not because she didn’t have the means, but by choice. Family, friends and faith were her priority and all she really needed to be happy. She was a loving wife to her husband Stan for 38 years and, in the end, his devoted and compassionate caregiver. As a mother of two she loved yearly family vacations in Lake George. It was her thing, and ours growing up too. She relished the success and happiness of her children as they grew and embraced the expansion of the family with open arms extending her unconditional love to both Maria and Ed.

Probably her most proud moments were the births of her grandsons, Joshua, Brett and Sean, who quickly became the apple of her eyes, with her kids now taking second stage - but that’s okay, it’s how it’s supposed to work.

Later in life she enjoyed the years that she worked at Chocolates With Love in Ramsey, NJ. It gave her independence, purpose and some lifelong friendships. Another source of endless entertainment for her were slot machines - whether it was at an actual casino or on her iPad - which required setting a timer to claim her free play money hourly, she usually never missed one.

She had very strong opinions on politics, gun control, alcohol, drugs, tattoos, facial hair and swearing - so if you wanted a debate, you had one. She hated being wrong, although she never thought she was. So really she disliked the thought that you thought she was wrong.

She had empathy for people and did volunteer work putting together Braille books for the blind, donating to food drives and collecting Christmas gifts for nursing homes by organizing the “Giving Tree” through her local parish. She died as she lived putting family, friends and faith above all else.
