Elaine (Maurer) Bumiller

Elaine Bumiller (nee Maurer) entered into eternal rest on June 13, 2024.

Born in 1938 to Edwin Maurer & Mildred Maurer and raised in Teaneck, NJ.

Graduated from the Academy of Holy Angels in Fort Lee and the Martland Medical School of Nursing in Newark. Worked as a surgical nurse in the neurological operating room at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in NYC. Married George Bumiller in 1961, together they raised their family in Ramsey, NJ. Later a member of the Ramsey Volunteer Ambulance Corp and a hearing aid dispenser/technician in Bergen County.

Survived by her husband George of 63 years and her sister Maryann (husband David), 4 children, Ed (wife Christine), George (wife Lisa), Jeanine, and Tom (wife Amy). She had 10 grandchildren Mark (wife Jackie), Karen (husband Hunter), Mike (wife Elise), Kyle (wife Rachel), Kacie, Sara, Kate, Griffin, Jenna and Bryna. 8 great grandchildren, Mason, Jackson, Booker, Georgia, Homer, Heidi, Jones and Bonnie.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going on family trips and vacations. She traveled internationally with her husband. She was an avid card player and belonged to several bridge groups. She enjoyed crafts, including knitting, crocheting, needle point and much more. Making Christmas cookies with the grandchildren was an annual tradition that was enjoyed by all. As a member of the Ramsey senior citizen group, she participated in crocheting and exercise groups.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2024 from 1-5 PM at Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, Ramsey, NJ. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 17, 2024 at 10 AM at St. Paul R.C. Church in Ramsey. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Hillside, NJ.
