Frank S. Johnson

On Friday, April 23, 2021, Frank Sterling Johnson, loving Brother,  Uncle and friend, passed away at the age of 70.

Born on May 6, 1950, in Queens, New York, to Captain Frank and Mildred (McKiernan) Johnson. He graduated Ramsey High School in 1968 and graduated William Paterson College, where he was an active member of the Theater Department, acting in multiple productions.

Frank  had a passion for Theater, Film and Sports. Frank was easily the ultimate Yankee fan. Blessed with encyclopedic memory he could produce facts, figures and information that would leave you amazed, as well as speechless. He was known for his loyalty, quick wit, his smile and his kind and compassionate spirit.

Frank is fondly remembered as "Coach Johnson." He dedicated 36 years to coaching Ramsey Little League baseball teams including The Senators, Woodpeckers, and the Hawks. Frank’s cheerful disposition and great sense of humor will be sorely missed by many. 

Frank is survived by his brothers John and Robert, and sister Margaret. Frank was the beloved uncle to nieces Raena, Alexandra, Samantha, and Jacqueline; nephew AJ; grandnephew Asher; grandniece Skyler

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2021 from 3 -7 PM at Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave, Ramsey, NJ. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, May 7, 2021 at 10 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah, NJ. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Frank to the ALS Association, als.org or Ramsey Baseball.
