GEORGE SMITH Obituary
SMITH, GEORGE C., 90, of Waldwick, NJ died peacefully on Monday, July 29th, 2002. Beloved husband of the late Violet (Coffey) Smith (1978). Devoted father of George C. Smith, Jr. of Norwalk, CA, Carol Miccinilli of Mahwah, NJ, Diana Kutniewski of Sykesville, MD and the late Gary Smith (2000). Cherished grandfather of 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Loving companion of Naomi Coleman of Waldwick.
George was a WW II Veteran and served with the US Army Medical Corp. Before retiring he was a Teacher for 36 years in the Passaic and Bergen County areas. He was also a Life Member of the Waldwick Volunteer Fire Department and Co-Founder of the Allendale-Waldwick Gun Club.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 2nd at 10:30 AM at Van Emburgh-Sneider Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Avenue, Ramsey, NJ. A cremation was private.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations in George's name to the Waldwick Volunteer Fire Department, 58 Wyckoff Avenue, Waldwick, NJ 07463 OR the Waldwick Volunteer Ambulance Corp, PO Box 244, Waldwick, NJ 07463.
