George Delano

George Delano 89, on May 28, 2024 of Ramsey, NJ. Beloved husband of Lucille Delano (nee Pelosi). Loving father of Maria Bogaenko (nee Delano) and husband Alex, Tony Delano and wife Nancy Roka and late son Peter Delano and wife Staci Anson. Adored grandfather (Pop Pop) of Julia, Emma and Nina Bogaenko and Nicholas, Maia, Angela and Matthew Delano. Cherished brother of three late brothers. Also survived by several nieces and nephews and caring sister-in-law Rosemary Delano.

George was a Research Chemist and worked for Nabisco for many years. He received his Bachelors Degree in Chemistry from NYU and his Masters Degree in Chemistry from Montclair State University. George was a US Army Veteran and a wine enthusiast who taught wine appreciation classes and made his own wine at home. He was an avid hiker who contributed to the New York Walk Book. He was a lover of classical music and enjoyed playing bocce, pool and gardening. George ran the Ramsey Community Gardens for many years, he also enjoyed being part of the Ramsey Seniors book club, and playing the piano.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2024 from 2-6 PM at Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave, Ramsey, NJ. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 3, 2024 at 10 AM at St. Paul R.C. Church in Ramsey. Interment will follow at Holy Name Cemetery in Jersey City, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any of the following organizations;
