Gerald M. Ruud

Gerald M. Ruud, 78, on April 13, 2024 of Pompton Plains formerly of Mahwah, NJ. Beloved husband of Judith. Loving father of Jerry Ruud and wife Denise, Jeff Ruud and Joi Braine and husband Kevin. Cherished grandfather of Catrina, Erika, Brittney, Brianna, Connor, Rowan & Lila. Dear brother of Karen Petersen and husband Ken. Gerald was a US Marine and proudly served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Mahwah VFW. After retiring from the packing industry for over 40 years Gerald volunteered at the Hackensack VA. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was a longtime member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Mahwah, Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ridgewood and The Chapel in Lincoln Park. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is resting peacefully in Heaven. 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 from 4 - 8 PM at Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Avenue, Ramsey. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at 10 AM at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ridgewood. Interment will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Gerald to Tunnel to Towers or Lighthouse Pregnancy Resource Center.
