HELEN CELESTE KUSANT

Helen Celeste Kusant (nee Sisto) of Ramsey, NJ formerly of Wyckoff, NJ died peacefully on July 25, 2002. She was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth C. Kusant (1963). Survived by her daughter Helen Marie, and her husband Steven C. Ahlstedt, a granddaughter Mary Ellen and her husband Erik Endress, a cherished great-grandson Griffin Taylor Endress and a nephew John X. Ascione and wife Eileen. Helen was a parishioner of St. Paul R.C.Church in Ramsey. Helen graduated Central High School in Paterson, NJ, and St.Joseph Hospital School of Nursing. She worked for Dr. W.A. Dwyer of Paterson. Helen was appointed Special Police Officer for the Township of Wyckoff and was Magistrate's Clerk for 15 years in Wyckoff. She joined the Edgar De Fino Agency as a certified Real Estate Saleswoman. Helen also worked in the travel industry for 20 years. In 1983 she became Welfare Director for the Borough of Ramsey until her retirement in 1996. Helen was a member of the Wyckoff Volunteer Ambulance Corps. She was a past president of the Wyckoff Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary Co.1, Women's Auxiliary of Rev. Patrick F. Pindar Council No.3962 Knights of Columbus, Rosary Alter Society of St.Elizabeth R.C. Church in Wyckoff, Ramsey Leisure Club and was a Charter member of the Ramsey Rescue Squad Ladies Auxiliary. Helen was also travel coordinator for the Ramsey Leisure Club and Chairwoman of the Ramsey Senior Citizen Non-Profit Transportation Corporation. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Van Emburgh-Sneider Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave, Ramsey, NJ 07446. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday July 29, 2002 at 10:00 AM at St.Paul R.C.Church 200 Wyckoff Avenue, Ramsey, NJ.Interment Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah, NJ.
