James P. Bonkosky

James P. Bonkosky, 76, of Mahwah, NJ passed away on February 6, 2023. Survived by his beloved partner Terry MacLeay and her son Jason; Loving father of James Bonkosky Jr and wife Jennifer & Jeff Bonkosky and wife Erin; Adoring grandfather of Harper; Dear brother of Ronald Bonkosky; Caring uncle to many nieces and nephews; Predeceased by his mother Claire Bonkosky.

James was born in Paterson, NJ and grew up in Prospect Park, NJ where he graduated from Manchester Regional High School. He had resided in Mahwah since 1995. He was a proud Army veteran serving in Germany as an equipment foreman. He spent the majority of his career at Pentek in engineering. His passion was collecting and restoring classic cars. He was a skilled craftsman that enjoyed working on home improvement projects and this eventually led to him renovating an old building to house and restore his cars. He was a lifelong animal lover.

A memorial service will be held on March 4, 2023 from 12-3 PM at Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave, Ramsey.
 
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in James's name to Tunnel to Towers, Wounded Warriors, or Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, Inc.
