James Goodman Obituary

James Goodman, 80 years old, born in Bayonne, NJ on July 18, 1943 passed peacefully at Chilton Medical Center in Pompton Plains on May 8th with the medical, emotional and spiritual support of their Hospice Care Team.  Known to those who loved him as “Jimmy” or “Uncle Jimmy”, he is survived by his beloved wife Charlotte (nee Ferrara), many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.  And of course, we cannot forget Mr. Murphy, Jimmy loved his cat and Mr. Murphy sure loved him.❤️

Married for 48 years, Jimmy’s days were spent sitting in his recliner with Charlotte right next to him.  Looking out the window in his community, watching television from morning to night was how they passed their time together. In earlier days, Jimmy and Charlotte’s love of Karaoke introduced them to many new friends and friendships.

A retired Veteran, Jimmy proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. He was employed as a truck driver and retired at the age of 60 from White Coffee, Long Island City, NY.

He served the community where they live on the Board of Directors at the Woodland Hills Condo Association in Lincoln Park, NJ.  Jimmy loved people and people loved him, he made many friends throughout his hometown.  He is very lucky to be surrounded by many concerned, helpful neighbors who check on him regularly sharing everyday gestures of kindness. His family gratefully thanks the Lincoln Park Police Department, Lincoln Park EMS and the Lincoln Park Ambulance Corp. for their continued assistance.

On behalf of Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home per Jimmy’s request, there will be no viewing and his cremation will be private.

The family invites your condolences and memories to be shared in the Guest Book below.
