Jean B. (Zavoski) Haglund

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jean B. (Zavoski) Haglund on October 14, 2023. She was 85. Jean of Mahwah, NJ was the daughter of Jospeh Zavoski and Anna Belowch Zavoski born on October 30, 1937 and was one of ten children. Jean married in 1957 to Alf B. Haglund. Together they parented four children. She was a proud member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church. She stood strong as a PTA member and was a librarian from 1980 – 1991. Jean had taught many children to read and write and was known for her bulletin boards for children of all ages. She had no problem teaching right from wrong. Although a loving person, there was no pulling the wool over her eyes. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and her siblings Daniel, Honey, Jackie, Virginia, and Michael and son-in-law Charles Young. She is survived by her siblings Joe, Dorothy, Pat, and Joanne. Her children Janet Wenberg (Terry), Daniel Haglund (Dawn), Kristine Young, John Haglund (Michael). She is also survived by her six grandchildren Ashley, Stanley (Joe), Danny Haglund, Charles Young Jr. (Loretta), Shawn Haglund, Allison Gill (Lee), Sarah Haglund, and ten great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2 - 4 PM & 7 – 9 PM at Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave, Ramsey, NJ. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at 10 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary R.C. Church in Mahwah.
