Jeremiah Crean Obituary

Jeremiah John Crean passed away peacefully, at the age of 59, during the early hours, Friday, November 21, 2025, surrounded by his family. Jerry was a beloved husband of 29 years to Cynthia J. Hackl Crean, a devoted father to Alyssa and Jessica Crean, and loving son to mother, Maria Weber Crean, and predeceased father, Jeremiah Noel Crean. He was a cherished nephew of Sonya Weber Michelson and Stan Michelson, as well as eldest brother to Paul, Jennifer, and Patrick, and uncle to Laine Jones.

Born in Bronx, NY on December 14, 1965, and raised in Allendale, NJ, Jerry’s life was marked by his hard work, dedication, and a deep love for his family, friends, and community. Jerry was an incredibly kind-hearted man who never met a single person who didn’t become his friend. He was the cornerstone of his friend group and always the life of the party.

Jerry’s contributions to his community were extensive. He was former president and current member of the Bergen Highlands Rotary Club, chairman of the Mahwah Township Planning board, member of the Hudson River Fishermen’s Association EBoard, member of the Northeast New Jersey Beekeepers Association, member of the Waldwick Pistol and Rifle Club, and former member of the Elks Club.

Jerry was also the proud President and owner of J.C. Electric Inc., co-owner of Quit Ya Bitchin’ Maple Syrup, and co-owner of Mountain Top Magic Honey. When Jerry was not working or volunteering, he could be found spending time with his family and friends. Those who knew Jerry, know that he always had to be busy doing something outside. He was a true-hearted outdoorsman, enjoying everything from horseback riding, hunting, skiing, snowmobiling, to boating and camping on Lake George.

Most importantly, his passion was fishing. Any chance Jerry got, he was on the water. Whether it was deep-sea, Hudson River, Lake George, or any body of water for that fact, Jerry always had a fishing pole with him. As part of his involvement with the Hudson River Fishermen’s Association, he kept alive the spirit of good friend and fellow fisherman, Peter Rudolph, via a memorial scholarship.

To honor Jerry’s love and passion for fishing, the family requests, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the Hudson River Fishermen’s Association

A celebration of his life will be scheduled at a later date.

Jerry was a light in this world and may his kindness and compassion for those around him never be forgotten. Rest easy, forever and always, and we all shall be together again someday.
