Jill Louise O’Reilly (nee Hunt), of Bonita Springs, Florida, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026. She was born in Queens, New York, to Mandaville and Dorothy Hunt and grew up in New York. Jill graduated from Marymount High School and Marymount College before earning her master’s degree in early childhood special education from Penn State University. She dedicated her career to the Kennedy Child Study Center, ultimately retiring as the Director of Education at the Bronx location.
In 1977, Jill married Joseph William O’Reilly at Saints Faith, Hope and Charity Chapel. They began their life together in Manhattan before moving to Ramsey, New Jersey, to raise their family. Jill adored her two children, Erin O’Reilly and Joseph O’Reilly, and could always be found cheering them on at countless sporting events throughout their childhood and college years.
Jill’s greatest joy was being a grandmother to Bianca O’Reilly and Colton O’Reilly, children of Joseph and Lauren (Samples) O’Reilly. After moving to Florida in retirement with her husband Joseph, she treasured every visit, filling their days with outings, hours at the pool, and meals at their favorite restaurants.
Jill embraced what she called the “Five F’s”: Family, Friends, Fun, Food, and being a Fan. She lived these values wholeheartedly devoted to her loved ones, rooting for her teams, playing golf and bridge, traveling, discovering new restaurants, and always making the most of life.
Jill is survived by her husband, Joseph O’Reilly, Sr.; her sister, Dale Hunt; her children, Erin O’Reilly and husband JP DeMauro, and Joseph O’Reilly and wife Lauren; and her beloved grandchildren, Bianca and Colton. She was predeceased by her brother, Neal E. Hunt.
