Joan Wilke Obituary

Joan Ethel Wilke, passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.  Her loving family surrounded Joan.  She died at Valley Hospital under Hospice Care in Paramus, New Jersey.

Born on February 2, 1932, in Hackensack, New Jersey, to loving parents Ethel and William Wilke.  Joan predeceased her older brother Eugene Wilke.

Joan graduated from Hackensack High School, she continued her education at Green Mountain College in Vermont, where she received her degree.

She worked for many years as an office manager in a Dental office, where she was not only the organizational backbone but also a source of support and friendship to the many patients and her colleagues.

Joan's interests were a reflection of her nurturing spirit. She loved to cook, bake, and garden.  She found joy in weeding, planting and flower arranging. Her hands were rarely still, as she was often found knitting, creating beautiful pieces for her loved ones, and her favorite pups.

Bridge and her group of card sharks were a source of friendship and challenge. Joan won her last bridge tournament finishing in first place with a “purse of” a whopping $15.00.

Joan dog sat for her “grand dogs”, family, and her grandchildren would tell you she was the best grandmother, always ready with a story, movie date, paintball game or a comforting hug.

Married to James Logio in 1954 Joan and Jim had three daughters, Lynn married to Roger Spain have three sons, Jason, (Aly), Peter (Kara), and Gregg

Deborah Politi has four sons Dan (Ashley) Nick (Devon), Paul (Edwina), Luke (Kate) and Judi Logio married to Ginger Margoli.

The family rounds out with her seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, this young generation will carry forward her kindness and love. Joan's life was one of strength, steadfast love, and gentle guidance. Her presence was a comfort to all who knew her, and her influence will be felt for generations to come. As we say goodbye to Joan Ethel Wilke, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a woman dearly loved. Her memory will be treasured in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have known her. Joan's journey on earth has ended, but her spirit will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. Mom, we miss you terribly already… We love you deeply and we will see you in our dreams.
