Joseph Nicholas Aimi passed away peacefully on April 2 at the age of 78. His courageous battle against Waldenstrom’s Disease for over 35 years is a testament to his strength and resilience. Joseph is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years Theresa Aimi (LoRusso); daughter Lisa Hogrefe (Aimi) and her husband Robert; son, Joseph Aimi and his wife, Lauren. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren, Justin and Robert Hogrefe and Ryan and Camryn Aimi. Joseph’s journey began in the Bronx with his mom Elizabeth and sister Barbara. He attended Cardinal Hayes High School. His first major job was with Travelers Insurance Company in the mailroom when he met his mentor, Kenneth Bieber. Joe went on to work for Ken for years before buying the agency after Ken’s passing. The love story between Joseph and Theresa was one of love at first sight. Their family settled in River Edge, New Jersey, where they welcomed their children, Lisa and Joseph. An avid golfer, Joseph served as the president of the Gaelic Golf Club, spending countless hours on the course. Summers were cherished in New Rochelle, where the family enjoyed beach clubs with friends and loved ones. In the face of adversity, Joseph’s commitment to fundraising for cancer research at Weill Cornell Medical Center exemplifies his dedication to making a difference. May his memory be a source of inspiration and comfort to all who knew him.
