Joseph Littier

Joseph (Joe) Littier, age 101 of Waldwick, NJ passed away on March 9, 2023. Joe was predeceased by his loving wife of 56 years, Gilda. Joe was a devoted husband and father, trusted friend, hard-working, kind, and a gentle man, who graced all who knew him with his presence. He has left us with overwhelming sadness, as well as gratitude for the privilege of having known and loved him. Joe was born and raised in Newburgh, NY coming to Waldwick, NJ after being honorably discharged from the armed service in 1945. He enlisted in the Army Air Force in 1942 where he proudly served his country during World War II rising to the rank of Corporal. Joe owned a dry-cleaning business, Dun-Rite, in Paterson, NJ with his brother, Steven. Joe is survived by his daughter, Linda Cannizzaro and two sons, Joe Littier and wife Patti, and John Littier and wife Marilyn. Joe has seven grandchildren, Laura Pedrick and husband Marty, Chuck Cannizzaro and wife Debbie, Chris Littier and wife Beatrice, Nick Littier and wife Heather, Mike Littier and wife Margaret, Anthony and Jackie Littier. He also has ten great grandchildren, Martin Pedrick, CJ and Lexi Cannizzaro, Dominque, Jessica, Aubriana, Tristan, Margie and Teddy Littier, and Addie Littier.

Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, March 15 from 2 to 6 pm at the Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave, Ramsey, NJ.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 16 at 11 AM at St Luke’s Roman Catholic Church in Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ with interment to follow at St. Luke’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Joseph’s honor to the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs or a charity of your choice.
