Judith M. (Scelzo) Smid

Judith Marilyn Smid, 82, passed away on August 11, 2024 with her family by her side. Judy was born on May 29, 1942 to Frank and Mildred Scelzo. She attended Hackensack High School and pursued a career in the beauty industry, working for both Joseph’s Salon in Hackensack and Kismet Beauty Salon in Teaneck. Judy is survived by her husband of 59 years, Thomas R. Smid; her children Tira Smid and Thomas A. Smid and their spouses Joseph Wolfer and Brittany Smid; as well as six grandchildren, Samual, Thomas Peter, Hailey, and the triplets, Haven, Blaise, and Leo. Judy enjoyed the seaside, her family, good food and a good laugh. She will be remembered for her devotion to family, a quirky sense of humor, and love of animals, especially cats.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 2:00 PM-6:00 PM with a Funeral Service being conducted at 5:30 PM at Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home in Ramsey, NJ.
