Karen Ann Dellavechia (nee Kozak)

Beloved wife, mother, and friend, left us peacefully in her sleep on the morning of Wednesday, October 22nd at the age of 82.

Karen was born in Passaic, NJ to Joseph and Betty Kozak on September 13th, 1943, and was the eldest of three siblings. Karen met her husband, Ronnie, in high school where they fell in love, married, and started their family in Lodi, NJ.  In the early 1970’s, they moved from Lodi to Ramsey and raised their three children, Darren, Scott, and Dana. Ron and Scott reside in Ramsey, while Darren and Dana live nearby.

Karen’s heart was dedicated to family and friends. Her children were her pride and joy, but nothing was too much for those she loved. A devoted mother, wife, and friend Karen wasn’t one to cut a conversation short.  In her true Italian spirit, Karen loved cooking, and, with honorable mention, her Sunday sauce fed family, friends, and any lucky neighbors who happened by “Are you sure you don’t want more pasta??”

Karen enjoyed reading, playing cards, games, and time with family and friends. Earlier in life, Karen enjoyed bowling, painting, arts and crafts, and was an avid GIANTS fan (“GO BLUE”), who once bowled with Lawrence Taylor!

Holidays and their traditions were paramount, as was bossing us all around to get ready for guests, saying grace and handling all matriarch duties - these were things she cherished so much. Karen also loved animals, and she mothered them with the same love and care that made this world a little better.

We will miss you more than words can say.  Rest easy.

Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025 from 1-4 PM with a memorial service being conducted at 1:30 PM at Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave, Ramsey, NJ.
