Kevin J. Malone

Kevin J Malone, 79, of Mahwah, NJ died peacefully on Sunday August 18, 2024 after a week at his beloved Blackmore Pond in Massachusetts. The oldest of the Malone siblings, Kevin was born in San Diego, California, but moved to the neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts for his formative years. He attended Catholic Memorial High School where he first met the Irish Christian Brothers who became his second family for the rest of his life. He was involved in ministry as a teacher and guidance counselor in a variety of Catholic elementary and high schools, including music ministry every Sunday when he would encourage the assembly to “sing in full voice.” His later half of life included as he called her “his lovely bride” Susan, whom he introduced to his families and traditions as she did hers. Kevin is pre-deceased by his parents Thomas and Virginia Malone and his sister Patricia Reardon. He is survived by his wife Susan, his sister, Sr. Anne Malone, SND, his brother, Robert and sister-in-law Beth, his brother-in-law Jay Zaremba, his sister-in-law Rita and Russell Garruba and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 25, 2024 from 1-5 PM at Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home 109 Darlington Ave, Ramsey, NJ 07446. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 26, 2024 at 10 AM at St. Paul RC Church, 200 Wyckoff Ave, Ramsey, NJ 07446. Interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery, 770 Darlington Ave, Mahwah, NJ 07430. In lieu of flowers, donations to Christian Brothers, 742 Monroe Ave. Elizabeth, NJ 07201 would be appreciated.
