Lawrence “Larry” Morgan, 69, of Allendale, NJ passed away on November 16, 2023 after a brief illness. Larry was born on August 14, 1954 in Tacoma, WA to Donald and Eleanor Morgan. Raised by his aunt and uncle in Allendale, Larry attended Northern Highlands Regional High School and later went on to attend Ramapo College of NJ.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda, and his three children — LJ, Lauren, and Lucas. After briefly living in Ramsey, NJ, Larry moved to Allendale where he lived for the past 45+ years creating endless memories. Larry’s passion for volunteering started at the Ramsey Volunteer Fire Department, followed by Waldwick Volunteer Fire Department, and finally the Allendale Volunteer Fire Department where he held numerous officer ranks. Larry enjoyed giving back to the community in other ways too from his time on the Holiday Observers to being a pack leader for his sons’ Boy Scout troops. A loving father, he was passionate for all three of his children’s competitive swimming careers and you could often find him with a stop watch on the bleachers or assisting with the scoreboard. He was extremely proud of his children’s accomplishments in life and forever grateful for his children’s grand-dogs — Brody, Layla, Petey, Frankie, and Nelson — who he truly loved. Despite their track record, Larry did enjoy watching the NY Giants and NJ Devils and could often be seen rooting them on at Nellie’s or Kinchley’s. Larry will sincerely be missed by many and his legacy will live on.
