Our loving mother, Linda Casey Buck, 73, passed away on Monday, May 3, 2021 in the comfort of her home in Lakewood, N.J. surrounded by her family. She was born in Jersey City, N.J. to George and Julia Schmedes (Conlin). Linda was the oldest of three children. She grew up in Waldwick, N.J. and graduated from St. Luke’s High School in 1965. After high school she attended Berkeley School of Business in Ridgewood, NJ. In 1972, Linda moved to Ramsey, N.J. where she raised her children and called home for close to 50 years. Linda enjoyed her many years working in sales at Gane Brothers, FiberMark DSI and Ecological Fibers before retiring in 2019. Linda loved good food, traveling and socializing. Linda’s passion for travel has taken her around the world, some of favorite destinations were Greece, Spain, France, Croatia, Austria, China and Germany. Linda loved her family unconditionally, she took charge in times of crisis and made every day spent with them something to remember. She attended many of her grandchildren’s school and sporting events, often being their loudest cheerleader. Throughout Linda’s life she had many wonderful and lifelong friends that brought her immense happiness. Linda will be remembered for her beautiful smile, endless energy, kind nature and her willingness to always help others. Linda is survived by her daughter Christine and her husband Paul Vautrin of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., her son Kevin Casey and his wife Deborah of Brick, NJ and her son “The Goldenchild” Alex Buck of Lakewood, N.J. Also surviving are Linda’s brother George Schmedes of Hillsdale, NJ, her sister Julie Schmedes of Paramus, NJ and her five grandchildren: Carleigh, Anya and Parker Vautrin, Morgan and Quinn Casey, whom she loved with all of her heart. In Linda’s honor, please live your life to the fullest and be kind to others.
