Lynn Marion Meyer (nee Basler), 74, passed away peacefully after a long illness surrounded by her family on January 24, 2021. Born in Hoboken, NJ on October 29, 1946 to George and Marion (nee Ficken) Basler before moving to Ramsey, NJ. Lynn graduated Ramsey High School in 1964 and was awarded a full scholarship from Continental Can Company. She attended Montclair State College and received a BS degree in education in 1968. Lynn was hired as a physical education teacher at Waldwick High School, Waldwick, NJ in 1967. She taught physical education and health for 33 years and coached varsity girls volleyball for two seasons before retiring on October 31, 2000. Lynn resided in Mahwah, NJ for 50 years. She served in community service projects involving Mahwah Boy Scout Troop 50, participated in the preparation and oversight of 14 Eagle Scout ceremonies, paper drives and scouting for food. Lynn served as a docent for The Mahwah Museum actively participating in the construction and presentation of the Les Paul Memorial Exhibit. Lynn’s hobbies included bowling and attending NASCAR racing events for over 25 years having visited all but 4 NASCAR tracks in the United States. Lynn was an avid NASCAR fan. She collected many assorted pieces of cut class and also enjoyed reading. Lynn is survived by her beloved husband Peter Meyer, her sons Raymond Meyer and wife Sherry and Peter Meyer and wife Laura. She was the cherished grandmother of Steffanie, Patricia, Rebecca, Shannon and Troy and adored great-grandmother of Dustin, Derek, Ryan and Kimber. Dear sister of Wayne Basler and George Basler.
A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, Ramsey.
