Mandy Mackenzie Obituary

On September 25th, 2023, Mandy Mackenzie, 46, of Ramsey New Jersey, passed away at home. God saw she was getting tired, put his arms around her and took her home into Heaven.

Born January 7th, 1977, to Jenny and Graham Rogers, Mandy lived an action-packed young life in South Africa with her bother Shaun, family, and many close friends. After school the ever-intelligent Mandy attended university graduating with a bachelor’s degree in science and becoming a chiropractic Doctor. The ever-industrious Mandy opened her own successful medical practice treating and healing patients who got see her kind and gentle manner in action. Mandy hit the pause on her professional career to take on her most important responsibility her two beautiful boys, Michael and Cameron born in 2011 and 2012 after moving to the US in 2009.

She was loved as a daughter by her married family Hugh, Christine, Lauretta, and Robert Mackenzie; however, it was her mom Jenny, who went before her to heaven on May 29, 2013, having fought the same battle as Mandy with cancer, that always held a special place in Mandy’s heart. On Jenny’s passing a piece of Mandy heart was taken from her, and while our hearts break with the loss of Mandy, we are filled with warmth that she be reconnected with her mother and her heart made whole.

Mandy was married to her high school sweetheart Thomas, who she first met in school in 1986 and who came together as a couple in 1994 in their final school year, getting married in 2004. She was Thomas’ soul mate bringing joy, happiness, and love to their eternal bond. They did everything together and treasured their relationship through the challenges they faced together as well as the exciting adventures including relocating to America and accomplishing the most important act of life of being parents together.

Mandy is survived by Thomas, and her two special boys Michael (12) and Cameron (10). They were everything to her and her kind, patient, gentle soul shines brightly in them both. Mandy realizing her time on earth was brief, was most concerned about the boys. She did a remarkable job teaching and giving them the life skills that will make them successful until they are re-united in Heaven.

Mandy, whilst incredibly smart and talented in so many ways, will be remembered for her huge heart – she absolutely loved everyone, was always generous, never judging and only ever had the nicest things to say. She will be missed by all her special friends, both old and new.

One of her great joys was travel, going to the Kruger game reserve in South Africa reconnecting with Africa, the wild bush, and the never-ending sky, colored the same as her piercing beautiful blue eyes. Mandy will be missed, but her family, Thomas, Michael, and Cameron, know she has gone ahead to the Savana in Heaven.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 29, 2023 at 10 AM at Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River, NJ.
