Maria B. (Traverso) Ferrando

Maria Ferrando (nee Traverso) 93, born December 8, 1930, of Fort Lee, died May 22, 2024. Beloved wife of the late John. Loving Mother to Barbara Driscoll and her husband, Tom, daughter JoAnn Hunt and her husband, Billy, and Stepmother to Patricia Fay. She was also a proud Nana to her grandchildren Dylan, Rylie, Reese, Emma, and Brady. Maria grew up in Fort Lee with her 3 siblings Phil, who later became her hall buddy at Christian Health, as well as Victor and Fran who no doubt, were waiting for her on the other side along with her sister-in-laws, Shirley and Dottie. She was a homemaker before returning to work at Madonna Cemetery as a secretary for 30 years, retiring in 2004. She was fiercely loyal and protective of her friends and family and always spoke her mind, sometimes too much. Her love of animals has been passed down to her children and grandchildren, always a softie for a dog. She will be missed more than she will ever know. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Madonna Church on the Hill 2070, Hoefley’s Lane, Fort Lee, NJ, with entombment to follow at Madonna Mausoleum.
