Marie (Speranza) D'Armiento

Marie D’Armiento, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away on September 4, 2025, at the age of 88, with her loving family by her side.  Born in New York City on July 3, 1937, to Michael and Carmela (Millie) Speranza, Marie was raised in the Bronx alongside her treasured late brother, Angelo.  In 1987, she became a widow to her beloved husband of twenty-seven years, Joseph Sr.

Marie was a woman of remarkable grace and resilience.  In her career, Marie was a successful executive assistant for IBM and Sharp Electronics. In her personal life, she was a talented artist who enjoyed oil painting, crafting, and dressmaking.  She was also an avid tennis player.

A lifetime of cherished family gatherings and holiday feasts were the foundation of Marie’s life, where her exceptional cooking and entertaining skills brought warmth and joy to all. She treasured her friends, including Jeanne and Linda, and enjoyed her time with neighbors and fellow card players at the Mahwah Senior Center.  A woman of immense kindness and generosity, Marie's greatest joy was her grandchildren, and she was deeply proud of their accomplishments.

Marie faced her medical challenges with extraordinary courage, persevering with a strength that inspired all who knew her, until God called her home.

She is survived by her devoted sons Joseph Jr., Michael with wife, Dana, Christopher with wife, Lillie, grandchildren Joseph, Nicholas, Jenna, Michael, and Marcus.  She also leaves behind her goddaughter Linda, and many nieces and nephews. Marie’s legacy of love and strength will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025 from 4-8 PM at Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave, Ramsey, NJ. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 10 AM at Church of the Presentation in USR, NJ. Interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah, NJ.
